kAiA Arts Dallas • DFW Youth Empowerment

WE'RE CHANGING THE WAY KIDS BUILD RESILIENCE.

Because emotional wellness shouldn't begin with a diagnosis or a crisis.

At kAiA Arts Dallas, we're reimagining how children and teens develop confidence, connection, and emotional resilience through creativity, mentorship, and community service. From stand-up comedy and theater to art and other unconventional experiences, we're creating opportunities for young people to discover their strengths, find their voice, and build meaningful relationships.

Creativity as a Form of Therapy

Helping kids heal, connect, and grow before challenges escalate.

Sentenced to Standup

Unlike typical comedy classes, this program is led by mental health professionals who create a supportive, therapeutic environment where creativity thrives. Through comedy and storytelling, kids build:

Confidence in expressing themselves

Emotional awareness and self-understanding

Connection with peers in a safe, judgment-free space

Skills in writing, performing, and public speaking

This isn't just about learning to be funny—it's about helping kids find their voice, reduce anxiety, and develop tools that benefit them far beyond the stage.

Our flagship program, Sentenced to Stand-Up Junior Comedy & Improv, is designed for youth ages 8 to 14. We are also actively developing workshops and creative experiences for older teens.
Are kAiA programs considered therapy?
No. While informed by mental health professionals to foster self-esteem and resilience, our creative enrichment programs are not clinical therapy or medical treatment, and do not replace professional care.

No prior experience is necessary! Our workshops are welcoming, playful, and beginner-friendly. We celebrate curiosity and courage over perfection, helping every child discover their voice.
How can I register my child?
You can enroll directly through our website by visiting our Sentenced to Stand-Up section and clicking the registration link. Cohorts are kept intentionally small to ensure attentive mentorship.
Are scholarships available?
Yes! We believe financial circumstances should never prevent a child from participating. Need-based scholarships and sliding-scale tuition assistance are available for every class cohort.
